80's musicI love 80's pop and rock. As for rock, Dire Straits, along with the Police, Queen, and the Eagles, are strong influences of mine because my parents listened to them a lot and consequentially, these classics were ingrained into me from a young age. While I lack the talent or means to create this kind of rock, the easy-going nature of some of the songs makes its way into a lot of my compositions and musical ideas.

Frank Ocean's blondThis album has some of my favorite RnB tracks, such as Nikes, Ivy, Solo, and Nights. I like how the album feels very laid back, but the music still had a ton of effort put into it, unlike some relaxed music from other artists. The way that Frank Ocean uses his both his voice and the instrumentals to tell a story is bar none.

Strictly speaking musically, I believe Kanye West to be one of the best producers I've heard. His style is very large sounding without being obnoxious or overloading. I also share his philosophy that the human voice is the absolute best, most versatile instrument at one's disposal. Not only for traditional singing or even rapping, but sampling a voice and bending it to the song, or forming the song around it is the skill that I want to master most in music.
